Welcome

Who are we?

Makelab Charleston is accepting new members! We are a 501(C)3 sponsored organization, which allows the group to solicit for and pool resources to purchase equipment like CNC machines, drill presses, quality soldering stations, 3-D printers, all to benefit the community. If you are interested in working to bring more science, technology, and art to the Charleston area, join now!

Open House

We host an open house most Sundays at 1PM.  To find out if we are having an open house, please visit our Makelab Meetup page. They are held at our space, 3955 Christopher St, North Charleston, SC 29405. Our current space is not what is shown in the video below, but some of the things we do are represented in the video. We are in a larger facility with more resources, and are looking to grow even more!

Bring your rig, network cable, and favorite beverage, and prepare to get fragged! Makelab Charleston will be hosting a LAN party every other month on the 3rd Saturday, just opposite of our card and board game night.

Please mention your favorite game in the comment section so others can know about it and add it to their install list. We like to focus on free, open source, and multi-platform games so the most amount of people can join in. Some of the games that will be featured are:

On September 28th from 11am to 1pm, the College of Charleston will be having their annual fall bike auction. All of the bikes that have been abandoned or seized on campus will be gathered up and put on the block. While the nicer bikes are sure to attract the most attention, there will be a lot of older bikes or broken bicycles that could be picked up for real cheap. Maybe you have a project in mind that could use a few old bicycles for parts? Well this will be a great time to pick them up on the cheap. Chad will be there at 11am and will have a truck downtown if you need parts hauled away. Make sure to make arrangements with him though so your new purchases don't get left behind!
